Being Free Over Being Perfect

The Free Woman launched two months ago. How crazy is that? Time flies when you’re having fun! As much as it’s a space designed to inspire and empower feminine hearts, it’s a journey that begs for these hearts and live as they were created, authentically, fully and freely.

As the journey is unfolding, I’m personally discovering and being challenged in so many ways. The words on the About Page are more than words, it’s an expression of the embodiment of the countless facets of her:

The Free Woman is a revolution of the feminine heart. The modern woman is no longer confined, but free to be the multi-faceted beauty she was originally created to be.

Breaking the mould in design, she is a dreamer, believer, creative heart, adventurous soul, thought leader, pioneer, a doer, wise, intelligent, a lifelong learner, practical, proactive, confident, visionary, inspiring, fresh, aware, imperfect, kind, a humanitarian, classy, and so much more.

Our hope is that you’ll have dreams awakened and be empowered to live them out, making the world, a better place.

As I’ve been pondering, dreaming, and scheming for the future of this beauty, the following words from Anna Quindlen have been resonating in my heart:

“What is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself.”

Becoming ourselves is one of the hardest things we can do. But it’s beautiful. I know this is something I have to work at on a daily basis. I also know that this is something that challenges us all.

We all break the mould in design and are each on our own individual journey of discovering this unique design and what’s been embedded within us.

Life is about being free over being perfect. To be free is to be perfect because you’re able to live in the fullness of who you are. The work is hard. The emotions can be raw. But this journey of becoming yourself is one of the most beautiful journey’s you can ever be on.

In the coming months, we’ll be diving in and exploring the five main facets in more detail and with more purpose – Inspired, Radiant, Honest, Influential, and Aware. Reject the ideal of perfection. Embrace freedom and authenticity. Becoming you is the most beautiful thing you can ever become. It is what you were born to do, after all.
